A Letter To My daughter...

As I write this, you are curled up on my lap taking a nap. And I can't help but think of everything I want for you.

I want for you to be curious. I want you to enjoy learning new things, and to see the beauty of things unknown. I want for you to know what you want, and to go after it. I want you to find something you enjoy so thoroughly, that you couldn't imagine not doing it. I want you to have a best friend, that you can grow up , and old with. I want you to know that you can do anything that you set your mind to, and that your dad and I will support you through all of it. I want you to know that you can come to me for absolutely anything, because believe it or not, I've done some pretty dumb stuff too. When a boy breaks your heart, I want you to tell me, because it sucks, and you're going to need ice cream.
I want you to not get mad at me when I tell your dad that a boy broke your heart, because I know hes gonna hunt that boy down. I can tell by the way he looks at you, that he loves you in a way he's never loved anything else.
I want you to know that there is nothing you could ever do or say that would make us stop loving you. I prayed so hard that one day, God would give us the most beautiful baby, and He did. You are everything we could have ever wanted, and you're only 8 weeks old. I know you'll grow up to be great.
I want you to love reading, because your dad and I both do, and we have a lot of books. I want you to love dogs, because your dad and I don't like cats. I see us getting you a puppy in the next couple years. I want you to have a love for all animals, really. I want for you to have all sort of animals.
I want for you to know the value of working hard, I want you to feel accomplished in every single thing that you do, no matter how little.
I want you to love the outdoors, your dad does, I'm still working on it. We've already bought you a hiking backpack, I know, its a little much, seeing as though you can't even sit up by yourself yet. But we couldn't help ourselves.
I want you to see your worth, because my little love you are worth more than the moon and the stars. You are absolutely everything to us, and we love you so unconditionally. You are so special, and anyone would be lucky to know you. I want you to never settle, and strive for everything you want in life.
I want you to know how much I love being your momma, because the feeling of your little feet kicking in my tummy made me so happy. The sound of your first cry broke my heart and put it back together again. Your first smile made me cry, happy tears of course. Watching you coo and smile while kicking your little feet. How you scream if we try to support your head, because you want to do it on your own. I love every little thing about you, and I wouldn't trade you for the world.
But most of all, the biggest thing I want for you is to be happy.
