Be Obsessively Grateful This Season...

Image
Recently there have been so many days, that I honestly just forget to be grateful. I start to focus on all of the negative things going on in my life, and all of the good things, no matter how small or big, get forgotten. The truth is I have so much to be grateful for. The last week I have started listing things everyday that I am grateful for. It's something that I'd like to challenge any of you reading this to do. The world tends to be so negative, with politics, opinions, debating, etc. I want to do my tiny little part in maybe making a change in just a few peoples lives. I have a happy and healthy baby. I have a wonderful husband who loves me unconditionally. We have two vehicles.  We have wonderful neighbors, who always seem to be there when we need it most. We both have extremely stable jobs.  I now have a job, that allows me to be home on the weekends AND Holidays. I get to take my daughter to work with me. I have a husband who is very handy in making furnit...

Top 5 "Healthy" Snacks

Image
I love to snack, I mean who doesn't? But when it comes to snacking, I occasionally struggle to eat carrots instead of an entire bag of Cheetos. The truth is, I don't feel as bad about snacking, when I am choosing a healthier option. So you don't have to stick to carrots, or celery; as long as you know what your putting into your body. Here are a few of my all time favorite "Healthy" options: So far the only place I have found these Gummy Pandas in store, is at Starbucks. They are a bit pricey, but you can save a couple bucks by ordering them off of Amazon. Find Them Here! I am a HUGE fan of Goldfish, but these are a lot better option! Kiddos won't even notice the difference. I know you can find these at pretty much any grocery store, but if you don't have one near you I've left the link for you below! Find Them Here! I was never a huge fan of bars in general, until I finally came across these! The Dark Chocolate ...

One In Four.... My Miscarriage Story...

One in four women have experienced a miscarriage. One in 160 women have experienced a still birth. Twenty percent of known pregnancies, are a blighted ovum. There are so many different reasons, that so many couples, have angel babies. It's something that I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy. The emotional roller coaster, that couples go on, can last weeks, months, or even years. People never talk about the process of healing, let alone the loss, and it shouldn't be so taboo. It's sad, yes, but sometimes all  grieving mother, or father needs is someone to say "I understand what your going through, and it gets better." I have an almost eight month old daughter. When she was six months old, we found out that I was pregnant again. After the initial panic of having two under two, we got excited, even though we knew we shouldn't get too excited yet. A couple days after finding out, Andrew left on a DET, He would be gone for two months. I knew he was goi...

Breastfeeding Tips...

Image
Since having Skye I have been exclusively breastfeeding, and I'm so glad that I am able to. Breastfeeding is so unbelievably rewarding, for both you and baby! Now don't get me wrong, it's definitely not easy, and I had moments when I really wanted to give up, but I'm honestly so grateful that I stuck with it! I plan on doing a whole different blog post on the benefits or breastfeeding, for both mom and baby, so keep a lookout! Lanolin This is going to be your absolute best friend. I'm listing this first because this stuff is a total lifesaver, and I didn't buy nearly enough of this at first. When you first start nursing, or even pumping, your nipples will be so very sore and dry. Applying Lanolin after every time you feed is key to making sure your breastfeeding experience is a good one! Change Breast Pads Often When I was first starting to nurse, I changed my breast pads every single time I nursed Skye. Between the loads of lanolin I was using, and the...

Benefits of Drinking Lemon Water...

Image
I love to start my day off with lemon water first thing in the morning, and sometimes even throughout the day. It has so any different health benefits, and it definitely adds some flavor to your water! I very much prefer to make my lemon water with fresh sliced lemons, but if I don't have any on hand, I'll also use lemon juice, which I almost always have. I drink this before anything else every single morning, and it seriously helps in kick starting my day! When I drink this throughout the day, it's normally because I really need to drink more water, but want something with more flavor.  Below I've listed some of my favorite ways that drinking a glass of lemon water everyday can benefit your body.  Aids in digestion Boosts your immune system Can relieve joint pain Cleanses the liver Fights infections Reduces inflammation Can boost energy Increases your metabolism Prevents bad breath Lowers high blood pressure Balances pH levels Soothes a sore throat...

Why I Am Going Back To Work...

Image
I love being a stay at home mom, it's the most rewarding thing I have ever done. I love waking up to cuddles, giggles, and smiles from our beautiful little girl. I love watching her learn new things, and the pure joy on her face when we play with her favorite toys. I love being able to exclusively breastfeed, without worrying about pumping for her later. I love holding her as she sleeps, and hearing her coo in her sleep. I love everything about being able to stay home with her. So why would I stop?  I'm going back to work because I love my husband and my daughter, and I want to give them the world. I want to work hard now, so that later Andrew and I can retire easily, and enjoy our older years doing all of the things we want. I want the best things for Skye, I want to be able to take her to travel the world, to go to Disney World, to travel and see all of the family we don't see often. I want her to be able to pursue whatever passion she wants. I want to be able to se...

Favorite Moisturizers...

Image
So obviously if you guys have read any of my blog posts, you'll know that I love Aveeno Products. Especially their Active Naturals products, but I also love lots of other moisturizers and lotions. I've purchased all of these products more than once, and I absolutely love all of them. I definitely have other favorite Moisturizers, but I wanted to pick a select few that I always have on hand. Hope you enjoy! Aveeno Daily Moisturizing Lotion I keep this Moisturizer on hand at all times, even though I do occasionally switch to other moisturizers. I always keep this in our guest bathroom, and I keep a smaller bottle in my bathroom. This stuff works great for babies too, and has never caused an issue for Skye when I run out of her moisturizers. I have pretty sensitive skin as well, so I definitely recommend this to anyone with really dry and sensitive skin. Palmer's Cocoa Butter This stuff was amazing during my pregnancy, my whole body was so ridiculously dry, ...
